Listeners say she has a unique musical voice — a constantly evolving personal signature. For Aliya, DJing is not just about playing tandas; it’s about creating an atmosphere, telling a story, and inviting dancers into a shared experience through sound.
I have been actively DJing tango since 2014. I have performed at many national and international Tango Festivals and Tango Marathons. I am a DJ who uses all periods of tango (Guardia Vieja, Golden Age, and After) and plays more dynamic music. My favorite orchestras are D'Arienzo, Canaro, Tanturi, Troilo, and Pugliese.
For him, capturing the dancers’ moments, signs, and expressions, or if possible, feeling the energy on the dance floor and aligning it with the next tanda is a challenge. He also believes there are many tango songs that deserve to be shared and danced to, and he is curious to see how dancers interpret them.
When in the DJ booth, Konrad makes a wide selection from the most famous classical tango orchestras spanning from the mid-1920s to the late 1970s; he enriches this with rare but still very danceable tracks. He enjoys the diversity of pieces, understands which music fits together, and carefully observes the dance floor.
Figen Moran has been DJing since 2000 and dancing since 1997. She has performed at various Tango Festivals, Marathons, and local milongas in Turkey and in many different countries. When creating her tandas, she usually prefers the “Golden Age” but also includes other periods depending on the dancers’ level and mood.
